Snowcloud Maslenitsa effigy

"The snow cloud” is a project of traditional carnival effigy which should be traditionaly burned to celebrate the arrival of spring in Gorky Park but rethought with the modern point of view. Cloud - is a symbol that embodies all the negatives, cold, fear, all the tension that had accumulated in people over the winter, over the past year, something we want to get rid of in the new year, to burn off. We created a 9m construction that had about 12 giant dodecaedros joined together and filled with flammable materials in the top and a bunch of supports that symbolized fallouts coming down from the cloud. During the Maslenitsa week animated images of our sculpture had been placed on the title page of Gorky Park site, where each person could write his whishes, what he would like to get rid of and send it to the cloud for further incineration. At the final ceremony our sculpture was set up at the waterfront of the Park and then after a big and beautiful performance it had been completely burned off with the Starvinskiy and Borodin music accompaniment.
